Flying Start Placement 3, I took on the role of an AS2 grade associate performing audit work across numerous areas of the audit file for various clients including Carlsberg, Ducati and Vocis. This included client interaction, managing my own areas of the file and keeping my seniors involved.
I have developed myself from my second placement, I have become more assured in my audit technical knowledge, I have increased my experience with the nuances with dealing with clients and this placement I have started to view the audit from a broadened perspective spotting opportunities to add value to the business and clients.
I highly enjoy the programme and would 100% recommend it to anyone who has an interest in accounting/auditing. It has been a joy to work with PwC and I look forward to joining full time hopefully in September.
PwC has recognised my strengths and gives credit where credit is due. The office is so welcoming and the people are very approachable. As a placement student, you are not just there to do bits and pieces, you are fully involved in real audit work and it's very satisfying to know you've made an impact.
Very well organised and structured, the split between lectures and time on placement is perfect. It allows us to spend time learning and then applying the knowledge that we have learnt. There is always great support from the university and pwc alike.
I received excellent support from my tutor, who checked in with us to see how we were doing on placement regularly. She was always on hand to answer and questions and queries I may have had.
There is always great support from PwC. No matter where you are there is always someone hand in the office/on google hangouts to answer queries. Everyone is very friendly and approachable so I always confident someone would be able to help out.
My salary is meeting my costs, considering the inclusion of overtime pay and the payment of our accomodation. I am satisfied.
There are a great many opportunities such as badminton, table tennis tournaments, month end drinks, monday night footie. There are also opportunities to practice skiing with the largest downhill ski slope in the country in milton keynes.
Yes
PwC has developed myself as a person hugely and has contributed to my increased confidence and made me identify my strengths and also areas that I need to develop. I have thoroughly enjoyed my course and will be sad to leave for now.
Be aware of global news and finance. Take part in the opportunities that PwC provides as there are numerous opportunities and avenues to explore. Be confident in yourself, PwC are a diverse employer and look for talent in various backgrounds.
