I am the operations manager for one of our Business Units. Essentially, my daily tasks involve ensuring that the business remains operationally compliant against metrics enforced upon us by corporate. I report directly to our Vice President of Operation and Delivery, and am also in contact daily with other various senior members of the business. Over my time in the role, I have increased levels of responsibility, where on some tasks I have similar responsibility as a Director. Over the next month or so, I will be moving into a new role within CGI, becoming the PMO Manager on one of our largest Oil and Gas engagements.
I have learnt a number of new skills and qualifications. Through the degree apprenticeship, I achieved a degree with First Class honours in Information Systems Management. Within the workspace and more specific to my role, I have obtained qualifications in; Prince 2 Practioner, ITIL Foundation. I have also developed and learnt a number of personal and professional skills, such as presenting to senior members of the business and understanding how to effectively communicate with a client.
I have loved the program and would recommend it to absolutely anyone. The work and levels of responsibility that CGI gives you are great and I don't think can be found at similar companies. The degree apprenticeship exceeded my expectations and cannot fault it.
I feel extremely valued by CGI, and know that a lot of the work that I do and have done during my time in the company has gone a long way to improving company compliance etc.. I have received a lot of recognition from senior management within the business, and I believe that CGI are brilliant at recognising their junior employees.
The structure of the program is extremely well organised, from my own personal experience. I know others have felt some sense of disorganisation in their projects, however, I cannot fault this. CGI put in place a vast number of support mechanisms to help students through the degree apprenticeship, which are extremely valuable.
A wealth of support and training is always available from the university.

I cannot fault the salary, and believe it is extremely competitive and in line with other companies in the industry.
CGI hold a vast number of events outside of work with the sports and social program. There is always so much to do and usually, it is paid for by the company!
Yes
Choosing the degree apprenticeship with CGI has been the best decision of my life. I believe that I am several years ahead of my friends who are just leaving university. I have been able to save for a house deposit and also get a degree with no uni fees at all!
The application process is long and tiring, but it can also be fun. It is important to be yourself.
