I am an associate 1 and I perform testings under different FSLI's. This involves interacting with clients on a day to day basis, requesting documents and following up when necessary.
Having to communicate with clients reguarly helped me improve my communication skills. I also had to take ownership of my work and meet deadlines. This enhanced my leadership and organisational skills.
I really enjoyed working. The work was challenging and I felt personally satisfied when I was able to do it. The good team spirit made me want to learn more and work harder. The friendly environment made it easy to deal with the stress of meeting deadlines.
I felt very valued by PwC. Every so often, the manager would congratulate me on getting the work done well and all my team members really valued my opinion and were interested in what I had to say.
The flying start programme is very well structured. We were given a training session of a week before starting placement and all the knowledged that was required to excel on placement had been acquired during the lectures at university. I was able to apply my knowledge while at work.
My personal tutor was very supportive and I could always count on her to listen to me and helpe me solve my problems.
I was assigned a people's manager and he really helped me throughout my placement. He constantly checked on me to see how I was getting on with my work and would also advice me whenever I had doubts about my work. His words of motivations made me want to improve and work better.
Yes my salary met all my costs and I was allowed to claim back my travel and food expenses.
Yes everyone in the office is really friendly and there was always an event being organised every week , from badminton socials to month end drinks.

PwC is all about integration and being part of a community that dedicates itself to help you grow as a person, progress and achieve your goals.
You have to have a good business and global acumen, be positive and eager to work and learn, value teamwork and other team members' opinions and take ownership of your work. The application and interview process will go smoothly if you are able to demonstrate all these qualities and give examples of how you've demonstrated them in the past.
