Modelling Manager. I manage a team of analysts who provide predictive models for Customer Acquisition and Fraud. I liaise regularly with the business model users, strategy areas and governance teams. I'm responsible for all models within this function, my teams delivery, the governance approvals as well as line management and career development of other analysts.
I've learnt how to write academically and to skim read journals and decide whether this is appropriate, as part of this apprenticeship
I really enjoy the programme, but find it quite time consuming. I think the University does not always treat us in the right way and the mix of students is more geared towards people earlier on in their career than I would have expected
I think the investment in me as a colleague and offering me this apprenticeship really made me feel valued
I think it is often geared towards people who are in full time education and allowances aren't really made for the fact that we are juggling this with our jobs - for example putting a study skills day on a day when we are not in Uni usually and so no one can attend as we are all in work
I would expect more, we get little feedback and are often just told that this is what University is like. I'm sometimes unsure on what I can and can't ask, and if I'm not receiving detailed feedback don't know how I can progress
Moderate, my HR representative is great and goes above and beyond. I get a lot of support from other colleagues who are on similar education to me. I get little support from my manager or mentor as it doesn't really align with the work needed in the department
My employer pays for my travel, and I don't live on the campus
I do get to go to company events and we are encouraged to consider the community
Yes
They invested in me as a person and support me trying to develop my own knowledge
Ensure you allow plenty of time to prepare for your interview and relax and do your best
