In my day to day role I will assist private banking and advice managers in the pre presentation work. This can be from running illustrations, ID customers, pulling together literature and apps and also calculating advice fees. We will need to deal with PBAMs mainly by email but do also have face to face contact and by phone. We do not deal with customer directly but the packs we produce are provided to clients during the presentation.
I think as I am in the early stages I have not learned any new skills. I am currently on the team leader apprenticeship as an aspiring manager but have found that the course work has been designed for existing managers and have found myself struggling when trying to provide examples of coaching plans etc
I think the program is good to get you thinking but can be difficult to keep motivated as the course work in particular can be boring at times to complete. However I feel I am determined to complete and will put all I can into getting this done. We have had some training day sand recently went to Kaplan and found the course they ran was better than Lloyds ones. The day was slightly shorter but got more value as I felt Lloyds were trying to drag the course out to meet the time and this lost the flow.
I certainly feel valued at LBG. I think my manager is very good at promoting me and pushing me. I carry out deputy tasks for her and have also attended recognition days which are very enjoyable. Overall LBG have been very good to me and my manager is great to work with.
There is a structure there but I am finding it difficult to manage. I have time allocated at work but have struggled to do at home due to small children and the only device I have is a phone and the work I need to do is not great to do by mobile. The support is there from my manager but have a feeling Kaplan has taken on to much therefore there is a lack off support from there. There was a lack of guidance on what the course covered and LBG have opened this to aspiring managers but the course work has not been adapted to relect this.
I have a tutor but started my course in January and had a initial call in November and only met my tutor last week in a day course. There has been a lack of communication with Kaplan but have been told there is 1 tutor to over 40 colleagues. I am getting support from my manager but certainly don't feel confident when completing online portal.
Employer has been fine with support. My manager has been accommodating with time but has also felt the course work is difficult for me as an aspiring manager to complete as I may not have experienced certain situations. The courses that Lloyds have been running are ok and the facilitators running them are great.
I am lucky to have a job and this is a add on where I will complete the apprenticeship during my day job. There has been some training days but they have mainly been in my office. I did have to travel to Edinburgh and all train costs were covered by my employer. Therefore no issues with this.
I am not aware of any opportunities outside work. I have not come across and Lloyds have not mentioned anything. I don't think there would be anything to do outside of work
Yes
I think LBG is a great employer. I believe for the job I do I am well paid and have a good package with benefits including staff mortgage. There is a lot of opportunities for development and is a company will an exciting future ahead.
I was fortunate not to go through any process as I started with Lloyds through a agency and was based here. I then got offered a job. In general I would say the application is quite lengthy so be prepared and be confident
