My role is a project assistant working within group transformation - commercial change. I'm currently working within the business architecture team, working as a business analyst. I'm responsible for fact finding business process and feeding into the architect team to develop strategy and organisational design.
I've learnt requirements definition and increased my knowledge of how projects are developed on a wider scale.
The programme has been enjoyable as it has allowed me to sample the different change disciplines and gain experience in different aspects of project management that I wouldn't have been able to otherwise able to.
I received a nomination for the change excellence awards under the change trainee excellence category. My line manager is quick to recognise any positive feedback from my stakeholders.
There has been some issues with the running of the programme through our external apprenticeship partner as the system used to record progress has been patchy in its effectiveness. Communication within the group about the scheme has been great and I rarely come across anyone who doesn't know about it.
Regular catch ups and if I have any issues I am able to contact them to discuss.
Support from my line manager and the colleagues working with the emerging talent team has been great. Task manager support can sometimes be difficult as depending on how the project is running it can be difficult to get support if they are particularly busy.
As an existing Lloyds colleague I have always found the salary's to be in line with market expectations. I would say that depending on the project you are attached to you could be doing work which is a grade or two above the expectation so projects benefit in terms of paying less for resource without the acting up allowance in a colleagues salary.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in the change community within the bank as well as the APM events which regularly run.
Yes
Banking gets a bad name in the press but a lot of the good work that we are doing gets unreported.
Do some research before hand, banking is changing at an astonishing rate and the old ideas about what a bank is won't leave you in good stead during an interview.
