Senior Banking advisor - Primarily I deal with applications to either convert an existing account or creation of a new one for sole and joint appllicants over the phone. I also deal with telephone banking general enquiries, requests and complaints. I am also champion for responsible businesss, charity work, and customer.
I have further developped my time management through my participation on the scheme as the time keyed is useful in assigning key tasks and deadlines on a weekly basis. I also share best practice and use some of this to reflect on my own acheivements and weaknesses. It has helped to strengthen my customer relationships accordingly.
I enjoy the independant learning as it is at my own pace and I don't feel pressured. I also enjoy the discussions with my peers and coach about aspects that before went without being questioned and were just assumed. Finding out new things about my colleagues has been very enlightening.
Very valued, since the passing of my father last May I have felt a greater sense of belonging in the bank and it's 'greater family' of employees and I am proud to share my humanitarianism when and however I can to both customers and colleagues.
Often there are scheduling issues beyond mine and my coach's control however when time is allocated it is respected. I would like more interaction with the other apprentices both at site and national levels sometimes but I understand this is not always practical.
Learndirect has so far provided two very amiable and competent tutors, our site lead is very approachable and friendly. If there are any issues they are quickly explained or ironed out as the case may be.
My team manager is encouraging and takes an active interest in what I do on the scheme offering his support as required. My team members help out on some of the tasks and offer interesting views on a variety of topics.
My salary is lower than I might expect down south especially London but as someone that lives at home and using public transport it covers my budgets adequately. I also find that my expenses are covered when appropiate in a timely and relatively easy fasion.
Not that many work opportunities outside of social work sadly. Ideally I would like to use my degree languages, German and French, more. I do howver a lot of work with the Wallasey Lions Group helping to raise 1000s of £s for local good causes.
Yes
They are a very inclusive and caring organisation that wants the best for not only it's customers but also for it's employees.
Be honest, be yourself and let your personality shine through. The more you engage the greater rewards you will reap.
