My role is an associate, working in teams to carry out the audit of a number of clients. This involves both face-to-face client contact at their offices, as well as working in the Deloitte office.
I'm currently studying for the ACA, and thus have developed a much wider knowledge of business, as well as learning how to get on in a professional environment.
I really enjoy my programme, because although the work isn't always particularly exciting, the people I work with are fantastic and there is a huge social culture at Deloitte.
The people I work with / for are very positive and are quick to praise when we're doing well, but also helpful and open when we need a bit more help, so you don't feel like a burden.
The programme is mostly structured in terms of studying and progression within the firm, but there is a lot of variation in terms of the work you do and what you expect to do.
There is a lot of support and everyone is very approachable should you require any help.
Deloitte is very supportive, both in relation to work (eg if you're struggling with something, everyone is happy to help) and in relation to studies (eg respecting that you may need extra time to revise before an exam).
There are plenty of opportunities outside of work, as there is a huge social culture at Deloitte so there are plenty of events during the year, as well as things like community investment days and projects to volunteer for.
