I am receiving a Level 3 BTEC Work Skills, NVQ and Theory based certificate. I have been put on a PAT Testing course.
I enjoy working in the academic public environment. The team i work with are good fun and have a good attitude towards knowing im currently an apprentice. I find the meetings with other apprentices exhilarating and insightful.
My internal manager, is very supportive and hands out praise when its deserved. Within the academy im based at all the staff praise and appreciate my help and know i will drop anything to help them if its possible. external visitors are very impressed with my work ethic and commitment to the role. im always involved in discussions about the progress of the department and team. i feel asif i am a trained technician with a say in how things are run.
Induction was well organised and help in the process of leaving 6th form to pursue a working placement. I receive training every day throughout the apprenticeship to further myself. Support: i receive support from the colleagues within my specified academy. Studying: around making time for studying i get the support needed. The program itself i don't feel has been organized to the level it will be. because the scheme is very new there are a lot of things that are still being ironed out.
my Tutor who is based in the same building is wonderful. he helps when im planning the next tasks. those who are external you do not hear from very often.
when i have questions or external issues at home theyre very understanding.
I live within walking distance of my place of employment. i was offered a travel allowance that was not needed. on average i spend three weeks of my salary on living and social costs. the location is ideal.
Not particularly. the only change in social events are to do with Staff outings at the end of each term.

I feel an apprenticeship route is a key way to get you self onto the ladder of employment. i think going into the apprenticeship route allowed me to further my professionalism. and has given me the vital experience i require to be a better candidate for any further jobs i apply for.
The only advice id provide would have been that the scheme was new. but all of the issues are slowly being solved.
