Analyst at Bloomberg. I work on the Bloomberg help desk where I assist clients in any queries they may have in regards to the terminal. This can be queries in which I need to help them troubleshoot an error, or general knowledge within equity, FX, commodities and Fixed income. I am an FX specialist and I train clients and show them how to use the terminal as well as trainings for specific functions. I interact with the rest of the analytics department as well as the sales team and software engineers.
I have learnt communication skills with clients over the phone and in person. I have learned to organise my daily tasks and to keep punctual. Managing a large workload at once has been a new developed skill and presenting in front of a group.
I work in a great department within a great team. The company is diverse and includes multi faith facilities to allow you to pray/conduct religious practices.
I receive appreciation from my team leader and manager as well as our clients. As for the involvement in new projects I feel like there is more I can do within the company.
The training provider is not well structured as there have been new mentors/tutors coming and going. The projects we get given are not usually marked or checked and they have constant changes within the course. However the teaching in terms of theory is good but its difficult to link this analytics role with software engineering
We have access to a mentor which we can contact when needed and have 1 to 1s every now and then
I receive lots of support from my employer when it comes to concerns in managing a large workload or safety concerns.
Just about enough to travel/eat/daily tasks
We have volunteering activities which I have participated in such as raising money for the NSPCC by climbing 38 flights of stairs up the gherkin.
