PFE is my role, I work with microsoft Cloud products and helping implement them into customer soloutions. I also work with other business side projects like help organise events and gatherting customer stories.
I have learnt many new skills before i had no IT qualifications now i have 3 MTA's (Microsoft technology associate) Certifications. I have also had internal training on being certified to deliver engagements both in person and online. Lastly, Microsoft has helped me develop my soft skills of general public speaking and being more confident in delivering to large audiences.
I Thoroughly enjoy the programme, there is a real freindly community of people at microsoft ranging from the team i work with to the group of apprentices who joined with me. The company culture at microsoft is focused on empowering everyone to acheive more. This can be seen at microsoft as most people you encounter are happy to help.
I feel valued by Microsoft as my manager appreciates the contriubutions i make to my team and they invest in me to better myself and make a bigger business impact.
The programme is very well structured, the first week was onboarding with all the apprentices where we got settled in and learned microsoft Culture. Then was i was placed into my role, we had another set of onboarding focusing on our role specifically and what we'd be doing in our jobs and throughout this there was mass support from HR.
QA have Skills coaches who try and visit you on a regular basis, they help you out with anything that microsoft might not be able to and help you out with the coursework side of the apprenticeship. In my experience QA/ the Skill coach has been lacking in certain areas but Leadership from their organisation has spoke to us and is looking to make massive improvements for the future.
I receive massive support from my employer, the HR team communicate well and arrange regular drop in sessions where you can raise any concerns and in my team i also have a mentor and sometime several. This helps you truly maximise what you get out of the apprenticeship and can tap into different knowledge pools. Overall microsoft general attitude to supporting you is great employees are always keen to learn more about apprentices and happy to help if asked.
The salary is suited i can afford to commute and have my daily costs as well as having enough to afford my social costs.
There are quite alot of opportunities outside of work, the football team is one that is big in microsoft and they get to travel the UK for games and once a year there is an EMEA tournement where you fly out to somewhere like greece and have a tournement vs other Mircosoft countries.
Yes
Its a nice culture, Nice people, Comfortable wage and offers great future prospects.
Be yourself as it always helps, dont be afraid of not knowing everything. I came into mircosoft with no IT qualifications and i am now in an IT role.
