The answer is Lots. I go to college on Mondays on day release completing my HNC in electronics. then at work I complete 3 month rotations through different department learning lots of new skills. Such as excel sheets, engineering bits and bob, managing my apprentice projects, nvq. and personal development training for example FIRST AID course or departed specifics.
I like the job as you do 3 month rotations so if you end up in a placement you though you would like but don't you are never there for the rest of the apprenticeship you get a good amount of insight in to different departments so at the end you have a good idea of what you would like to go in to. at the end of the day you are here to set up a career for yourself and this is a lot easier if you find a place you enjoy this is why its good.
we are very valued to each department as each department we are free to we have already been paid for by hr and are not considered a resource to the placement department. this has a massive advantage as in terms of the department you are in we are free so we get lots of interesting job and get to go on trips and it also makes us flexible I n terms of work when I a department because we don't put stress on the placement managers so this get us good involvement in projects.
