Working within the IT Risk and Assurance Team, I aided on the completion of IT audits and also helped on data analytics, risk management projects and cyber security work. I worked with a variety of clients and colleagues of various levels and grades. I attended meetings for new work and helped with proposals. I was given a lot of responsibility but only as much as I was able to cope with.
Soft skills have been key. I have also completed numerous online learnings about my sector and job. I have attended international conferences and training sessions regarding IT Risk and assurance and also undertaken more generic training regarding working well within teams and how to behave within a working environment.
I have thoroughly enjoyed all my placements. The team I work with have always ensure that I am challenged and engaged in my work. They have been approachable and always willing to help when they are required. The company culture has promoted strong bonds between teams and an atmosphere where everyone and all ideas are welcomed.
Extremely valued. The feedback process has meant that I am aware of exactly what is expected of me and whether I am meeting those expectations.
As the first group of Scholars, the organisation of the programme was expected to be not as great as future years however this isn't the case. The programme has always been well organised and supportive. Buddies were assigned and maintained each year providing an informal point of contact.
The Student Team have always provided excellent training in preparation of each placement and this has been developed by team specific training where guidance on specific problems is given.
Support is always provided especially when needed however as an employee, you are aware of who you can go to if you need to. Buddies and counsellors help this greatly.
Enough to cover costs and still allow some money to be saved for returning to University.
Lots of socials, CSR events and teams which you can be part of. I personally have completed 4 CSR days, a corporate run, numerous team building socials and balls.
Yes
Because I have never worked somewhere where I have felt so valued by everyone you meet. They truly live by the EY values.
To fully embrace all aspects of the process and ensure that you give it everything as this is the best way to get the most out of the process.
