I am a science manufacturing apprentice who works with plant operators learning their roles and some daily tasks I carry out is helping making a batch and carry out analysis.
I have developed my communication and time management skills. I have also furthered my education in manufacturing and hopefully I will come out with a qualification.
I really enjoy work and working in a team as the staff at Syngenta are all friendly and welcoming. The programme is very well organised and there is a very good support structure.
I feel very well valued as I am treated like a normal member of staff, and they get you involved in everything and you feel apart of the team.
This programme is very well structured and the programme is very robust. The support structure is great especially from my line manager. The training and coursed are carried out very well and are always organised.
The college where is study is very modern and has a small scale plant which is very useful to use as you can relate that to your plant at work.
I receive lots of support from my employer and I think having a review meeting every 6 weeks is good for making sure that you are doing well as well getting the chance to ask any questions or ask for any help. Also you get a mentor when you join therefore you can ask them for help at any time and they are very supportive.
I believe as an apprentice at Syngenta we are paid very well, and as I am very well organised with my money I have a comfortable amount to cover my living/travel costs etc.
At Syngenta there are many opportunities to attend events such as events advertising apprenticeships and visiting agricultural shows. You can also get involved with some activities at Syngenta such as Pilates and football.
Yes
Because it is a very good company who has a solid apprenticeship programme and if you do everything what you need to you are guaranteed a job.
If you attend open days or taster days be confident and ask plenty of questions and when you have an interview mention lots of team working activities you have been involved with as it shows you're team working skills which Syngenta values.
