My role includes process improvement and continual improvement, I facility improvement workshops and assist in problem solving on the site, I carry out internal assessments on ISO14001, ISO9001, BRC in Storage and Distribution as well as legal compliance.
Yes I believe I am developing my skills, we have looked at Kaizen and change, I also feel my English and Maths is improving.
I enjoy working with the group and the tutor is extremely helpful. The work can be a little difficult but I feel like the support is there for me.
While I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this apprenticeship, I do not feel particularly valued by DHL, I have worked for the company for 22 years and this is the first time I have not really felt valued.
The programmes is very well structured although not very well organised, some of the course material has been moved around and the tutor is trying to make it fit but this means moving forwards and backwards through the material on occasions
The support I receive is amazing, I am dyslexic and feel completely suppoprted
My employer is happy for me to attend the apprenticeship but has not shown any interest in how I am doing or what is happening with it, He has not once asked about it.
I put a petrol expense in for each trip I make, this amounts to £14 for the trip
We rarely do anything outside of work
Yes
I believe that DHL as a company are a good company to work for with good benefits and programmes, the potential for promotion is good and training can be excellent, however I would not recommend anyone to work at the site that I currently work at the moment, although I believe that will improve in time.
It has been 22 years since I applied to join the company so I cant really offer any advice on applying, however one of the best things about DHL is the opportunities, should you want to progress the opportunities are there, I would always suggest a transfer to a different site when being promoted to management roles, there are also opportunities to change your career should you wish too, or should you want to move to another area of the country or even to another country then there are opportunities to transfer to other sites.
