Definatley feel that the finnancial side is my favourote part which suits me well being a QS Team - Have settled well with the team and feel that I have a lot to offer as well as understanding how the rest of the team can help me progress in my career Expectations - It has met expactations and it has continued to on a regular basis. My expectations are that during this project I will have developed almost all tools and skills a QS needs on at least a very basic level.
Manager - My manager recognises my skills and abilities and regularly challanges me to complete tasks that I previously may have struggled with, continoualy developing me. Internal Recognition - I feel like a valued member of the team and work with everyone in the team on a daily basis.
induction - very organised, dedicated day Training - mentioned beforehand Support - lots of support from rest of QS' and even the rest of the site team when it comes to broadening my knowledge of construction, my senior QS is my mentor Task delegation - gradualy building up althouigh I would say that tehre is an onus on the apprentices to ask for tasks rather than be delegated them
Could be better if I'm honest, the tutors are quick to help but the actual course itself is very difficult to navigate and is nowhere near as well structured as the courses i took in my time at sixth form. The tutors do their best to help through this but due to it being a distance learning course it is hard to keep in constant contact.
Manager - mentione beforehand HR team - Always there to help Mentor - is my manager Accesibility of support - it is very easy to get help from people in the team/company and people are always able to give up some of their time.
Living Costs - Perhaps it prices out those who want to live away from home and not live in poverty Travel costs - all provided by the company Daily costs - enough to cover breakfast/lunch etc. Social Costs - a decent enough amount living at home but again if living away from home this could prove to be a problem
Events - There are many social events held, usually about once every 2/3 months Actvities - 5 a side football Voluntary initiatives - Helping the homeless + young people on the streets
Yes
Great company to work for and provides a great oppurtunity to have a career in construction
Allow a lot of prepartion for online tests and research the roles and responsiblities of a QS before the interview stage. Act confident and this will be your greatest asset.
