on a day to day basis my role is to learn the skills necessary to become a competent Fitter the tasks are both theoretical learning principles in engineering and health and safety and practical such as mechanical assembly work and pipe fitting
at the moment i am working towards a NVQ that will allow me to gain a trade in fitting, we have also been in BAE's on site training facility i have learnt how and what kind of work il be doing once i get into the business
i highly enjoy my work and the team i work with are helpful and fun to work with. the company itself makes me feel important to the projects that are on going and the business itself. it has out passed my expectations
i feel well valued in BAE as the 12 week reviews allow me to voice my opinion on how im being taught and keeps me up to date with my progress
the induction was well organised with tasks and activities all the way through the week. the training and support is above satisfactory the support meetings are great as they allow feed back from both sides as the apprentice and the employeer.
all my tutors are willing to help where ever they can and this helps to overcome tasks and to learn my trade. if i have any problems i know there are people i can talk to about them. the general attitude when supporting people is good, always willing to help
our apprentice coordinators offer good support during all our reviews and if i have any problems there always willing to help
the salary costs for me are well suited as i only live 10 minutes in the car away the travel costs are low and daily costs are minimal
