I'm an accredited HC and support the district in various manners, from kitchen audits to food quality support, induction and training & development ,stock support, recruitment and remodel support, daily i speak with different teams and support where needed and support businesses wherever needed / required every day is different, i am responsible for ensuring each HC runs thier kitchen safely and properly and prioritise the support based on the circumstances of the businesses
yesi have gained knowledge on "back to Basics" and learnt about traditional cooking methods, i am also developing my maths and english which i havent used since school, although i feel i struggle with this, i can take this going forward to help even more with my team
I look forward to my lifetime visit with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] as i know he will make me feel uncomfortable in what i need to achieve for the session, i thrive on this as i recognise my weaknesses, so it really helps my be more self aware. In the kitchen with [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] the chef he really makes the teaching enjoyable, he creates a good learning environment and really helps and pushes us to do everything correctly and suports where needed
Been in the role i am in i feel very valued, i love the fact that every GM / HC we have through to each team member knows and does ask me anything they do not know, i love the fact they know i can support them and they know if i don't know i will get back to them with "the know", my RBM and GMs show appreciation every time i see them, i have support various projects, from wet stock workshops to HC inductions through MIK to theft investagations
I feel the program is well organised, mark from lifetime is very good at communicating and ensuring i know what will happens for the session and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] the chef go through everything theoretically and and ensures we know whats needs to be done in what order, the team have bunched into little groups which works for them helping each other and working together, the organisation from Imogen is great with the dates well in advance and reminders just before the course date
I have any support i need, i can email [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] at lifetime with any question and he will answer, he is very supporting and is very aware of my maths and english weakness and thoroughly explains to me what its about and what will happen for the learning, i really enjoy learning new things so i try to get on and do the best i can
In my role i dont need too much support but i have regular contact with my hierarchy, who are also in very supportive roles so the support i ask for if needed is always there
yes, i am very happy with my salary, I do not do what i do for money (obviously living costs / life etc) i do my role because i love and am very passionate about what i do, i have been cooking 18 years and can now pass on my experience and knowledge and support and teach and advise over 100 members of our teams in the district, this feeling when i see there face or when i see my RBM when i have directly caused a fantastic result for us is what i do what i do for
We run very good incentives for the teams, including team nights out, the company has run fantastic events, i myself have won some of these and me or my team had fantastic prizes, i think these should happen again maybe 6 monthly as i realise the expense and research need to offer the competitions
Yes
having worked in independent pubs for 9 years, the difference is the training and development opportunities, With MAB there is no stopping you to get to the top.
the biggest thing would be to be yourself, thats what i want to see! they should correctly and fully fill in any application forms, be honest at interviews and make sure they are told the expectations of the role they are applying for, on the OJE they should be shown mostly specifically to the role they have applied for i feel for the majority and the rest should be spent with other members of the team
