Logistics Apprentice My daily task will change everyday when i'm at work with all the moving around I do from different sections of the warehouse. My daily interactions will be with most members of staff I see depending in which area i'm in weather this is giving out instructions or them asking questions through out the day, or when I need to go see my manger to ask questions about work I need to complete or if I have any questions about my apprenticeship. My external interactions are very slim at the moment as I have no need ring or contact anybody outside the warehouse but I do have to deal with external drives from other company's that deliver the goods to us for aldi to then pick and send to stores. My responsibilities will over time increase in the business when the work I am required to do will need to be in charge of sections and disrupting work out to staff.
I have learnt very good communication skills when working at Aldi with all the new staff I meet in different sections I have to be easy to talk to and to ask questions so I am learning the most of each section with the allotted time I am given to be over in that section. I would say I have also gained good time management as mostly all sections are to do with keeping everything quick and accurate to save the cost on the company so they can turn over the most profit. Mantra my training provider come and visit on site at my place of work to do any training and work so I can show him or present my work to tick all the boxes for my qualification. I do have work set by Mantra to complete out side of work like little maths and English questions just to keep me ticking at a good slandered so I don't start forgetting simple maths and English. I have gained my skills from Aldi with truck licences and general day to day skills which I can use each day with any department and I feel im always a big hand when I visit cause im so flexible with tasks set
I really enjoy the programme I am on as I can sometimes have a different job everyday and keeps the mind ticking so I don't get bored of the same job so im always learning something new aswel as getting paid to the work im needed to do either for the qualification or to do tasks for Aldi, I also feel I have become a better person being able to speak to any member of any team and not feel uncomfortable or awkward around them and not afraid to ask any questions and to do what is required of me for the company at the same time. I have lots of targets set with dates on to complete work for my qualifications and I have met all of them so far so I would say yes I am meeting my expectations
I feel very valued by Aldi as I am the only apprentice at the warehouse I am very looked after and if I ever need anything ive only got to go and ask and they will do the best they can to help or get stuff for me. The manager overall from my apprenticeship is can see the amount of hard work i've got to put in to and how much work is required of me to pass so I feel they do appreciate me and respect for what im doing. If there is a group task set or given out I will always be the first to think of ideas and to put my opinion across but also to listen to other peoples and discuss a overall out come as a team for the best of everybody.
At the very start of the programme it was very sketchy and was winged a little bit but after the first company went bust and we have been handed over to another company called Mantra it is a lot more organised and I know where I now stand and feel I can get a lot out of this company with their expertise in the subject
we have regular meetings once a month so he and I can both keep track of where im at and the progression Im making this is face to face or sometimes a planned phone call so we can talk in private to discuses work or any adjustments to make to previous work. The support I now receive is amazing if I every need anything its only a conversation away or an email and they will do there best to get or do it for me at anytime. Mantra are very supportive of my apprenticeship with the problem I received when I first started they are very forgive full and will always do the best they can for me to finish the course
Aldi are very supportive of my apprenticeship with the problem I received when I first started they are very forgive full and will always do the best they can for me to finish the course to the best of my ability as fast as I can to catch up with lost time and will always try make me push for the best and to catch up on time previously lost. The manger is all for helping me the best he can cause he knows in the long run as well as I do is that I can be a big help to the company seeing operations in a different light being able to pick out flaws and how I can make the company run smoother and better as a whole and if I doo need anything with HR I can just ask away at him and he will do his best to get me an answer
I am on a very good wage for an apprenticeship and with almost every 6 months receiving a pay rise I can be on twice if not triple so apprenticeship wages. I am very happy with my pay packets going up as often as they do and with most of it always going into savings I am always have money to go out on days of shopping and for travel expenses
Their are lots of company charitable events on all yeah rounds just as much as at work with cake days or raffles all to raise money for a charity aswel as doing your work, we also have aldi benefits which gives all employees discounts and money back in lots of different popular brands and places to go and see
Yes
overall they are a very good company to work for with nice working hours and are very nice with pop occasions that you may need to get off work they also pay a very good wage to all staff and they fact there are so much to offer from the Aldi benefits programme
Mt tips would be to always turn up on time and looking presentable to work and be a nice happy person as much as you can and they value that and you can go far within the business ladder being that type of person
