My job title is a apprentice that's training to be a logistics deputy manager through Mantra Learning i am doing 2 NVQ's that allow me to get management and warehouse and storage level 3. My daily tasks are different every day that i have to do but things that i do generally every day are pick rates, handing out and letters or rotas that the pickers need, i fill baskets up with wrap and labels also making sure that the general welfare and cleanliness is good on the aisles. My responsibilities are to get involved and communicating with everyone in the warehouse widening my knowledge on every department. I get projects given to me monthly by my personnel leader such as charity events. My hours are 6am - 1pm but i stay until 2pm if there are any jobs to be done.
I have nearly finished my first year to get storage and warehousing level 2. My confidence has grown in me as well as my communication,i have learnt to use my initiative more
I really enjoy my work in general, i love the team that I work with i get on really well with them no one treats me any different to any body else, it exceeded my expectations, the company had a really warm welcome when i started and it still feels that way now.
I feel very valued from all of my colleagues especially my manager they always say how well i am doing in work and that i always come to work with a smile on my face.
My induction were very good we were new to Aldi so they were getting used to what they had to with us and what we could and couldn't do. we have got support from everyone around us in the warehouse if we ever need anything. They trust us very well with tasks.
My training provider is there for me when i need them if i get stuck with anything i just have to email them, they come in every month to have a catch up and have a review with us.
I receive a lot of support from Aldi, there are plenty of things in place for support if we need it, or if we just want to have a chat with someone.
My salary is very good for my age, i dont have to pay for living, but it pays well for my social costs and my car.
There aren't many opportunities out of work but that doesn't bother me as i do my own things out of work.
Yes
It is a very good opportunity.
You need to be very open to work life within Aldi it is demanding.
