I am a project controls apprentice. Daily tasks include helping members of staff with databases and learning what different sections of project controls entail.
I have improved my Microsoft Excel skills and completed various training courses on health and safety and engineering.
I enjoy the work as the hours are good, I am well paid and the staff are friendly and helpful.
As this is the first approved project controls apprentice in the country, I feel very valued by EDF Energy and we are constantly reminded that we are the future for project controls.
The structure of the programme is good, however, I feel that some staff are not sure what to teach us and, as this is a busy time for them, are not available to help us as much as we would like.
Our training providers are all very good and value our input in making sure we get the best out of this course.
We receive a lot of support from our mentor and she is very approachable and wants to make sure we are enjoying what we do.
My salary/package meets my costs very well as I am only 18 years old, on a high level apprenticeship with no bills to pay.
I am unaware as to whether there are many outside events to do with the company but I assume that there will be opportunities in the near future.
Yes
The money is good, there are many opportunities to progress with the company and the working environment is friendly.
The on boarding process is very easy, just make sure you leave an impression on the employers as it is important to not be shy or overly quiet.
