my role is project management trainee however there are lots of opportunities to move around the business. depending on where you are in the business you were have different tasks from delivering a project to assisting the project managers from a project office role. there are a lots of projects all with different requirements and processes allowing you to learn new skills on each one you participate in.
the apprenticeship scheme allows you to gain skills from doing formal exams to workplace skills such as communication. there are many workshops which assist you in preparing for the formal exams and other workshops which help you gain workplace skills and offer support for any issues you may be experiencing whilst at work.
I enjoy working for the company, it is flexible in its working as it adopts the approach of 'agile working'. this especially helps with having the option to do your apprenticeship work from home with no distractions. this approach allows you to find a balance between your apprenticeship work and the work you do in your project management role. the members of all the different teams that I have been apart of have been very helpful and always look for ways to enhance your learning.
I feel that I am valued at Lloyds banking group, there are regular meetings with different managers giving recognition and ways to improve. there is always opportunities to push yourself within in role you undertake. there are external companies which you gain experience of working with which will give you feedback on your work done and how to keep moving forward.
The programmes initial structure is planned out well, but sometimes it doesn't go to plan when you have tasks to do with projects you are working on. it requires both the company and the apprenticeship programme to be flexible which sometimes is difficult.
our training provider holds workshops to help prepare us for our formal exams which are really good and you take a lot away from the workshops. when doing our normal apprenticeship work it can be more difficult to get hold of the provider.
there is a lot of support from the employer and they are understanding in the fact that you need time aside from your normal role to complete your apprenticeship work. they will dedicate one day of the working week for you to complete your apprenticeship work but sometimes you need to be flexible when working on certain projects.
salary/package is good for myself as long as you manage your outgoing costs effectively, it allows you to have travel costs to events/workshops which cover your expenses. there are also many events which have no cost which will take you to new places within the company.
there are many opportunities to travel to company events such as helping Britain prosper or helping with charity events through days to make a difference. there are other opportunities to travel around the world raising money for charity.
