Since joining Santander I have been part of two different teams both in CDS&P. 1. Contracts Management Professional. I was part of the contracts team and my daily tasks consisted of mainly admin work, keeping track of the inbox and executing contracts. As part of this role I interacted with my team and external suppliers. 2. Finance Professional as part of the Spend Request Team. My daily tasks are raising investment/expense requests for different business areas, I mainly interact with people internally.
Alongside the work we have 20% of our week to study for exams or complete training. I am currently studying ACCA and have completed 1 exam, I have also completed internal training courses on excel and external ones on behaviours etc.
I enjoy the programme and my work as I feel the work I complete is valued and I am treated like any other member of a team. The culture is very welcoming, friendly and supportive.
I feel valued and I am recognised for my contributions by receiving feedback and recognition in the finance newsletter or via email and being ask to take part in various events
The structure of the programme is good, the induction and training was well organised. As the programme ran for the first time this year some of the programme can be disorganised or unclear but this does get rectified.
The training provider has excellent online resources and we attend lectures in London to support our learning. The learning provider is good at giving support but can often be slow to provide the support.
The HR team provide support at the on boarding stage but not much after, managers are good with general support and guidance and schedule monthly 1:1's.
The salary is good and covers all costs associated: travel, living, etc. If you were living at home it would be a very generous salary
Santander have lots of work communities who host social events every month, from bowling and movie nights to sports clubs. There are also discovery days where you go out into the local community to volunteer.
Yes
Inclusive and welcoming environment to work in, a great place to develop and begin your career.
The application process has lots of stages but is quite straightforward. Research Santander beforehand so you know what they are doing in the media and markets.
