  • Audit senior at EY Review of junior staff working paper on our clients, including coaching juniors on how to complete the work. In contact with the client to discuss audit queries, work status and other matters they wish to discuss and obtain specialist opinions on.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Developed interpersonal skills due to being in frequent contact with all sorts of ages, roles, backgrounds - can easily adapt styles of presenting myself to each. Number of training courses covering specific auditing topics and new accounting standards. Obtaining the ACA.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Enjoy the programme to the extent it is a good opporutinty to obtain a highly regarded qualification and that a professional job develops a number of useful skill set. Company culture can be poor, with a large amount of office politics and poor work life balance if are unfortunate to be placed in the wrong team - however scope to move out of such situations. Flexibility within the school leaver programme in terms of pay, pace of exams and opportunities is limited.

  • Broadly by EY - not significantly By clients - very much so By specific managers do receive thanks and good feedback In some areas office politics will see others seek to gain their own advantage at detriment to their juniors.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Has improved over the years, and structure in place. However flexibility to meet individual needs is poor. Paid for college to learn content for exams, with time off as 'study leave' and not vacation which is appreciated.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Limited. Ability to contact via email is useful. Class sizes are often large meaning that insufficient time is given to questions. Do not enjoy large class sizes to small classrooms so insufficient space for all learning materials required.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Each person has a counsellor for queries and concerns. A number of health nertworks to contact in times of stress, however stigma around requesting support still visbile and so people don't always request when required.

  • Is average for the role and location. Sufficient.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • A number of work socials and networks with activities. London location lends itself to having easy access for various activities, events etc. Important to gain work /life balance to utilise opportunities.

  • 9. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Good name to have on the CV with a qualification obtained. Opportuinites are available within the company to try a number of roles.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Establish a good work life balance and be strict with teams if not obtaining sufficient supprt.
