  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I have been part of two teams since joining and had two different roles 1. Contracts Management Professional, my daily tasks consisted of taking care of the shared inbox, attending meetings to review contracts, executing contracts and admin work. As part of the contracts team you interact with people both internally and externally. 2. Finance Professional, as a finance professional I work in the raise spend request team and I am a expense/investment requisitioner. I am responsible for working through all the requests in my queue, in the role you interact with every business area wishing to raise a spend. I am responsible for the majority of project related spends

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The induction and training part of the programme was well structured, but the structure of the programme itself could be improved as it was not as originally described, we were told we could rotate every 6-12 months and we could express and interest as to where we wanted to go but this has not been the case yet. I didn't receive a mentor until 6 months into the programme. The time off to study is well organised and the programme is becoming better structured, 2017 was the first year the programme has ever ran so it is new for everyone.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Santander?
  • The application process has several stages, all of the stages are very similar. The assessment day will run through the same style questions as on the telephone interview. Prepare beforehand and check what Santander is doing in the media. Glassdoor is very useful to give ideas of the types of questions you may be asked.
