I am on the Financial Crime Apprenticeship Programme (Level 3). We have two study days where we work towards our Advanced Anti Money Laundering Certificate. Rest of the three days we do on the job learning where would be gaining experience and learning through different work streams (such as Payment screening, customer screening)of Financial Crime.
I have my first Anti Money Laundering Certificate, working towards advanced now. In Santander I have learnt effective communication skills, People Skills, Analytical skills etc. Santander also has 9 key behaviours that we showcases on regular basis such as active collaboration.
Our team consists of 15 apprentices from different age group and background. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know everyone as well as the working culture at Santander. Financial Crime is everything I expected it to be and more, everyday I learn something new and exciting.
Santander ensures that all their staffs are valued by recognising each other via Simply Thank Yous and StarMeUps, as well as the respect we have for each other.
As we are the first Financial Crime apprenticeship team in the UK, Santander has done its best to give us a structured timeline however it could also change time to time as different things are being tested. However two months induction which really helped us understand Santander and aspects of financial crime.
We get a lot of support from your coach, [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]. BPP has been good at setting tasks and conducting successful workshops. 121 reflection documents on a fortnight basis also helps keep on track.
Our manager is so passionate about Financial Crime and us. She is always looking for ways to push us and develop new skills in us. We have 121 with our manager and career conversation in order for Sarah to manage us the best way she can.
Really good. As I live at home I don't have much costs and my salary covers everything and allows me to book my holidays etc.
There are many networks such as embrace, women in business, ethnicity and enable across Santander that you could be part of. we have a gym and we as a team try to do community work and fundraising.
Yes
I would recommend Santander to a friend because This was such a good opportunity. You learn on the job, get qualifications and get paid for it while Santander and your manager develop you into a young professional with many transferrable skills.
Be yourself, Show initiative. Santander gives you a lot of help in preparation for the interviews so anytime you don't understand something don't be afraid to ask questions.
