I am on the ENSPIRE scheme in my first year doing buying on mens casual bottoms and outerwear. I do sample management and play a part in the order process and I email suppliers on a daily basis
I have gained more confidence and improved my ability to work independently as well as share my opinion. I am better at communicating now with my team and I have learned how to use the range plan. I am studying at college once a fortnight to improve my understanding of the role of a buyer and merchandiser
I thoroughly enjoy my programme. It is always challenging and I do something different every day. The people I work with are also really helpful towards my development
I feel strongly valued by my team in the sense that they trust me with a lot of responsibilities but are also always there to help me with any of those responsibilities.
The programme offers so many opportunities to develop and learn. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect but I would like to see a stronger connection between work and college in terms of communication however this is minor and does not affect my enthusiasm towards the programme
My manager is very approachable and always willing to help as are the rest of my team and the other teams on menswear. The whole department have in some way helped train me which is really helpful and I am very grateful to have so much support behind me
We have regular meetings with HR to see how we are getting on and if we have any comments to make. This is really great contact to have once in a while to determine if we are progressing at the expected pace
I live on my own so my salary doesn't greatly exceed my costs but it covers them and I can manage adequately
Yes, there are lots of opportunities to get involved with events that raise money for C.A.L.M, the charity that Tesco supports.
Yes
Because of the support with development, the skills that I am learning and because of the people.
Be yourself, be willing to take on a challenge and have confidence in your ability. Also, never be afraid to ask questions, there is a lot to take in
