as a manufacturing apprentice, my role is to learn to make the active pharmaceutical ingredient by transferring the batch and other chemicals through vessels, working with solvents and dangerous substances and kegging the batch up to be sent to stores.
I have learned to work better in a team and also my time management skills have improved as I allocate which job needs done when and how to prioritise.
I don't mind getting out my bed to come into work as I am earning money while learning and improving my skills in the workplace.
I feel very valued by GSK as there is always a helping hand and any queries we have are always taken seriously.
the programme is well structured, given a certain time allocated per building or department so we are gaining the full GSK operations experience.
we receive a lot of support and we are always welcomed to provide him with any questions we may have.
