I work as a design engineer, taking the initial layouts and equipment specifications and integrating them into a usable 3D model.
I have learned many skills including how to work better individually, time management and my decision making has increased dramatically. I have also achieved an HNC and HND as part of my apprenticeship.
I find my programme is very enjoyable and challenging
I feel that I am valued to some extent by BAE Systems although not as much as i would like
My programme is often subject to change and as a result, can be well organised in stages, but at varying stages throughout my apprenticeship, i have felt that it varies.
I receive regular support from my training provider, liaising with him several times per week.
As my employer envelopes so many people it is hard to give a fair assessment, but my direct supervisors have been of great support during my apprenticeship.
my living costs are high due to the distance I have to travel to work, I feel that it is slightly less than it should be.
There are many opportunities to be involved in various projects, over and above what is done in done between monday and friday
Yes
Good employer with reasonable history of supporting their workers, with decent pay and reasonably safe employment
Do your research prior to any interviews you may have as the effects of this cannot be underestimated.
