I am an apprentice Electrician, working within Maritime Submarines at BAE Systems. My main job role is to manufacture and install electrical wire ways and systems on a nuclear submarine
Prior to starting my apprenticeship with BAE Systems, I completed an NVQ2 in electrical engineering. The skills and knowledge of electrical systems that I learnt during this course have been developed further, as well as developing new skills in the area.
I enjoy the work I take part in at BAE Systems as part of my apprenticeship, as well as the social side of the programme.
I feel that I am appropriately involved with day to day jobs, I feel valued as a competent worker and recognised internally for this.
The programme is very well structured, including inductions to work placements, NVQ review meetings, 12 weekly reviews of progress and appropriate support with studies.
I have found that the training provider gives all the support necessary to complete the apprenticeship and gives appropriate help and guidance with any problems encountered.
BAE Systems as an employer gives a great amount of support when encountered with problems.
All of my personal costs are appropriately met by my salary.
There have been a fair amount of opportunities to be involved in events outside of work, welcome for anyone to be involved in.

BAE Systems is a great company to work for, and an amazing place to start out at in the engineering career.
Always express a good interest into the company when applying.
