I work in the commercial function as an estimator. This means I deal directly with our customers in negotiations and build up prices accordingly
I have developed my confidence drastically as well as improving my Excel skills.
I thoroughly enjoy my apprenticeship, I feel as if it was the best choice for me.
I feel very valued by BAE as they are paying a lot of money for my training, in each of my placements i have been given a lot of support, they make you feel like an employee rather than an apprentice.
It is very well structered, the placements are of a good length and you get a good insight to a large amount of the business.
You recieve as much support as you need from the training provider, if you need a lot they will do it, if you are more confident and don't need as much they will leave you to it. They do regular checks to make sure you don't need any extra support as well as this to make sure nobody is struggling without saying anything.
The support from BAE Systems is absolutely phenomanol, you are put on training courses that will benefit you and offer you support throughout each of your placements
It is a very good wage and more than meets costs for anyone living at home with parents, anyone who has to pay rent and bills may struggle to start with but as the wage increases it would become easily manageable
Yes, there are many opportunities out of work, a lot are organised by the apprentices or within your specific teams so they might not be readily available for all.
Yes
This is one the best apprenticeships in the country, the money is very good and you gain many skills.
Make sure you know your stuff before the interview and have enthusiasm towards the company.
