My job title is a Trainee Tax Advisor and I help out with a variety of daily tasks in the VAT team in order to work on different types of VAT work, e.g. compliance and advisory pieces. I regularly attend meetings and calls to make notes and to understand what new projects are coming. I regularly send out emails to clients to build client relationships.
I am studying to become a fully qualified tax advisory by the end of the 5 years. This is done using an external training source. There are also numerous VAT internal courses to expand my VAT knowledge and learn new information that has recently come out.
I enjoy working with my team and keeping in contact with the other school leavers who started at the same time as me. The company has been very inclusive and helpful.
I feel like I am included in as many tasks as possible and the internal rewards programme also shows that I am valued by team members sending me a reward.
There is a clear structure and multiple sources of study support. Regular calls with my apprenticeship mentor and my manager.
