Assistant Monitoring Manager Review

Assistant monitoring manager - leading and supporting on complex thematic reviews focused on risk controls to ensure that they are effective and reducing the level of risk to an acceptable level. I write Terms of reference, detailing the background of the review, objective, test plan, considerations out of scope and timeline of review. I build a test plan, test paper and a sample size ( typically representative or judgemental). I hold stakeholder calls to scope out the review and plan, liase with senior business leaders, risk managers and business units to have a full understanding of the risk controls and supporting procedures. Once testing is complete I agree management actions ( where relevant and timelines and then issue a draft and final report. The report will detail the findings and include a high level executive summary, detailed findings, test approach and management actions. I ask for evidence of the management actions being completed and follow this through. I also complete an end of review call assessment and throughout testing and at the end of testing have complete quality assurance checks where I recheck 10% of other testers work or have my senior manager QA 10% of my work.

yes, in the last year I completed the Advanced certificate in compliance and am currently completing the Certificate in Conduct risk. My role is also only to support reviews however instead I have been leading them to completion. Also just completed training on presentation skills and am presenting to the divisional director at the end of may. Every quarter I also complete mandatory training which includes regulator training on different subjects such as money launders, data protection and other regulatory aspects.

I always have really good discussions in 121's and feedback that I am able to learn from and bring forward into other reviews and my day to day working with colleagues and stakeholders. I have got the opportunity to develop through leading reviews and have really great experiences in the team. I truthfully really love my job and how I support the business to help our customers and reduce risk of things going wrong.

The salary is good for the role and enables me to live a good lifestyle in Glasgow. It is fair reflection for the industry and role as an Assistant Monitoring Manager supporting on Thematic reviews. The salary increases further once you become a Monitoring manager.

overall a great company, good package, flexible working opportunities. I love my job and don't consider it work as I enjoy it so much. My senior manager(s) and head of business are great and I have good colleagues and feel Lloyds has a great culture, ethics and values.

To be open and honest and make sure that what you are applying for is something you are truly passionate. Would like to have been told when interviewing to be detailed, consider what hurdles you overcame, what you learnt and shared with others, and to be very specific in the detail you provide the interviewer. Smile and relax as the fact you got the interview means the interviewer thinks you can do the job, so there is nothing to be nervous about.
