I work in the Policy and Advice Admin Team and my role involves processing Appeals and Grievances from employees, ordering chairs and holding conference calls to discuss the outcome of Occupational Health Assessments. I process investigation reports as part of the disciplinary process and I also carry out other Admin tasks such as processing holidays or ordering equipment.
Since starting my role I have learnt lots of new skills, I feel comfortable using the Peoplesoft processing systems which are used widely across HR. I also feel like I am a lot more confident holding calls and talking through cases with advisors. I also feel my Administrative skills are a lot more advance since this role.
I feel like the apprenticeship has been okay but not what I expected. There has been a lot of delays and change of assessor. I finished my apprenticeship 6 months ago but due to BPP delays it has still not been finalised. I did feel like the workbooks were quite easy to follow and did enjoy doing them at the time.
I feel very valued by RBS. I am frequently encouraged to keep learning and join more training schemes such as training sessions and possibly my CIPD course. I feel very comfortable in that if I had any problems I would know who to turn to and I would feel supported.
I do not feel like the programme was very well structured from a BPP aspect. Both myself and my manager adhered to the timelines and targets and I was finished well ahead of schedule however BPP have changed assessors multiple times and lost a lot of my previously submitted and passed work.
I do not feel supported by my training provider. I would not turn to them with any issues, I would just go through my line manager, I feel like the process has been quite disorganised and my training provider only ever schedules meetings to sign off the paperwork from their side and not to benefit me or my learning.
I feel fully supported by my employer and line manager. I am always being encouraged to learn more and progress. My line manager has helped me through the BPP issues and I feel very supported from that aspect. RBS Early Careers team also seem useful however I have not used them personally.
I feel like I get a very good wage and it reflects the work I do. This is reviewed every year and will be reviewed again when all the BPP problems are finished and I am no longer an apprentice. I feel like for the work I do this is a good salary.
Yes, I am currently looking into doing my CIPD qualification through RBS and this is currently under review. I have also completed my Employment Law diploma out of work which has helped me within my role. We are always made aware of any career progression programmes or courses to develop further in our role.
Yes
RBS are a really good employer and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new job. There are always various options to progress within the business and I work in Gogarburn which is a nice place to work. I always feel supported by my department and line manager.
Apply through the RBS career website and look for a role that you feel you have the previous experience to handle. Take your time when applying and ensure the role you go for is what you feel you would do well in and enjoy. Be very prepared for your interview.
