I am an Assistant relationship manager where I look after a portfolio of customers with a turnover of £2 - £20 million and I am their first point of contact at the Bank. I go on meetings with my manager to discuss how we can help customers and their financial needs
Yes, I understand how to talk to people over the phone confidently and I will gain a qualification at the end of my apprenticeship in Chartered Banker Certificate.
I really enjoy my team as we have a wide range of colleagues that I get to work with daily, the company is very good and they treat us well. I was unsure what to expect but I enjoy the job more than I thought.
I do feel valued by RBS as I have appreciation from my manager and my colleagues who I work with on a daily basis. however, I haven't had a chance to meet the senior managers.
it is very organised as I had training for 2 days at the start and then once I began studying their were 7 webinars which help cover all the text book which you need to learn for the exam. with regards to the work, I am being given a good weekly structure which my manager and I have created.
I receive a reasonable amount of support from my training provider as we have regular catch up calls. however, as the training provider is external it is sometimes difficult to explain a situation due to confidentiality.
I receive lots of support as my manager is very understanding as well as the team so when someone is overloaded we all make sure we can help. they allow me to have regular study sessions to ensure I am on top of my apprenticeship.
my salary is very good in consideration to my costs as I do still live at home but pay rent to my parents however travel costs are my biggest cost for the job but these are met easily.
Yes I have been to some networking events which are fun and allow you to meet other professionals - although lots of them are a lot older. as for leisure activities we don't participate in many, this is something we could do more of.
Yes
It is a big company so able to work in any department once you are in the company.
To make sure you enjoy helping customers and your main interest is with customer service, as for the interview, just make sure you read about the company before going into the interview so you are prepared and research STAR approach for answering questions.
