I work as an Executive Assistant to directors and managers in the people advisory service line. Some of the daily tasks include booking internal/ external meeting room, creating expenses to claim back on directors travel, accommodation etc, complete timesheets, diary management and many other tasks. Internally I communicate with other EA's whose behalf I am, completing the request on. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is my work based mentor and I am usually her point of contact if she is out of office, hence I do complete a lot of tasks on behalf of her directors. Externally, I would communicate with the EA'S of the clients to arrange meetings or ask for availability. I may also call external venues/ testaments to arrange table bookings for client meetings.
I will be gaining L3 award in buisness adminsiatration at the end of this programme This sunmmer i will be takling part in smartfutures which is run by EY foundation. This is a paid work experience programme for disadvanataged second year college studnets. I will be gaining confidence, leadership and interpersonal skills whilst delivering speeches, workshops and syupporting the students.
I have really enjoyed the programme so far. The work environment here at EY is different from ehat i had imagined it to be. The open plan floors and the whole concept of hot desking allows me to easily build relationships with other EA's. Through CR days and EY networks there is a real community in the office as all views and opinions are respected.
I feel really valued here at EY for a number of different reasons. Fisrtly, my work based coach has usually has me down as her point of contact when she is out of the office. This means that I receive all of her urgent requests that i can either action myself or forward it onto the right cover. This is Huge responsibility and shows how much i am trsuted despite the short ammount of time i have been here. Also, my team leader continuously shows how much she values me as she is always offering fantastic feedback and looking for more challanges and opportunties for me to further develop my self.
When i begun this programme i had an induction p[lan which i worked through in the firt 2 weeks. This allowed me to get used to all the systems and set up everything i needed. I then aslo had further training on all of the system used by EY as well as one to one sessions with my coaches. As we progressed, my [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] (Team Leaders) designed a task plan for me and the other apprentice to follow. this got us talking to all the other EA's and do a variety of tasks.
I feel like the programme at the start was not organised, most likely becasue it had been updated from the previous one. there was confusion over the 2 differnt platforms that we was using. Even more so for the fisrt module and missions the expectations that we was meant to meet were unclear. In the Webinars we were being told differnt things by differnt tutors that confused us even more. However now we are into module 2 and the second platform is up and running. I feel much more confident with the programme and i feel like the support from the BPP team is much better too.
I get full support of my team leader, coaches and other EA's. Everyone is friendly and are always willing to help with whatever I need. HR have been able to put me on the correct Tax code and have talked me through my salary.
I think that my salery package is excellent for my costs as i dont have many at the momment.
I have many opportunties outside of work that i can get invovlved in. There are a number of networks that i can join. Such as the black network, womens network and Mindfulness network, Even more so, through CR days we are able to give back to the community.
Yes
EY is a fanatstic place to work at. Everybpdy is friendly and are always wanted to help each othe out. Even more so EY invest in their employees and really undersatnd them as human beings who also have ep[rsonal lives to lead. EY support the devlopment and growth of all employees
I would say to showcase all of your achievemnets in the interview and really bring yourself across in a positive light. When you do start, never be afraid to ask questions becasue thats the way you will develop and grow
