My role is within Invoice Finance. My job role is an Assistant Relationship Manager, my daily tasks are mainly answering the phone, authorising payments, dealing with reactive queries, I usually mainly speak to my clients and other business areas within the bank to help with my queries. My responsibilities are to make sure all client payments are sent and to make sure clients receive a response same day.
I have passed my Professional Banker Certificate exam and have now nearly completed my apprenticeship. I have passed my ABFA certificate and have been on multiple training courses regarding credit protection/pricing. I feel my communication with clients over the phone and via email has gotten more professional and easier as my time as passed here.
I really enjoy the job I am doing at the moment, I haven't enjoyed my apprenticeship as much as I feel I just wanted to progress in my role and sometimes felt it was a bit in the way and very time consuming. It will be worth it in the end when I have the qualification as many of the roles in the bank require this anyway and it will always look good on my CV. The company I work for is great and I love the team I am in.
My manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyApprenticeship Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is amazing, he really cares about his staff and that makes me feel like a really appreciated member of staff even when I had only just started as an apprentice. We have a lot of recognition awards given out in our businesses area which comes mainly from Living Our Value nominations. Whenever CSR days or tasks/projects want undertaking I am always asked and I think my team members have loving me involved so it is great.
Very well structured, when I started everything was ready and prepared for me to use on the first day. A training plan was made for me and my apprenticeship buddy was on my team so that was helpful. I always had help from my colleagues and Manager when it came to my apprenticeship work books and revising for my exam. I think it was a very well organised programme.
A lot. Linette my training provider was always there if I ever needed anything and very supportive when it came to personal circumstances in my life. She always helped me in any way she could especially when I had problems passing my exam. She has been patient during the process and I am really thankful for that.
I receive a lot from my employer. My manager has contributed a lot of his time to help me with my apprenticeship, my exam and also my day to day runnings in the office. He always has time if I need him and I feel he is very approachable. Whenever I have an issue he always encourages me to come to him to try and T up a proper helpful response for our clients.
The salary package I think is very high for an apprenticeship, a lot higher than most. It covers my living costs and daily/social costs, it is travelling to Manchester from home which can cost me quite a bit of my salary but we are given extra money for these sort of things. The location of my job could be better if it wasn't in the centre of town but I understand why it is because it has better transportation for people who live further away.
We have a lot of events we can attend outside of work such as ABFA lunches, KPMG lunches, we do a lot of charity days at work which I get involved in quite a lot and they are happy to give you the time off work to attend these. Sometimes we have done gym classes together, and we have wellbeing afternoons one Friday a month where we go out and do a team building exercise.
Yes
The salary is great, the people I work with are lovely and the job is enjoyable. No 2 days are the same and I think this is what makes the job exciting. There are many benefits working here such as the wellbeing afternoons and the charity days and I think it makes for a great place to work.
When applying always make sure your CV is updated with your most recent stuff and really sell yourself. During interview make sure prep is completed before hand and revise it, take in notes as this is allowed and makes sure stuff isn't forgotten. Always be professional and look your best, be the best you you can be and always have good eye contact. I would like to have been told more about the actual job role when applying for this as I never knew what invoice finance was until I started.
