Once I am qualified I will be working on a HVDC Converter station, which will involve maintaining the assets on site, however whilst I am training I spend most days at the training centre working towards qualifications to become competent in my role.
I have learnt many skills as well as developed existing skills.
I enjoy the training aspect of my programme, it is very engaging. National Grid also look after their apprentices incredibly well providing accommodation whilst completing training.
I feel appropriately valued by National Grid.
As we are on a brand new scheme there have been a few minor hiccups with our programme but any issues have been dealt with appropriately and quickly.
I receive all of the support that I need.

Very well paid apprentice programme which adds to feeling valued by the company.
At the training centre there are some extra activities available to do on site in the evenings, i.e. a small gym, mountain bikes etc.
