At Syngenta my job title once out of my time will be an "Engineering Technical". As I have been mechanically trained I will be mechanically bias with very little involvement with electrical work. I conduct routine maintenance work daily to monitor the condition of assets and conduct any required remedial work. I react to breakdowns on plan, most jobs involve breaking flanged pipework, splitting casings on pumps to work on internal components and working on pressure vessels and associated equipment.I interact with many people o a daily basis, other Syngenta engineers, process operators, contractors and management.
Since starting my apprenticeship I have gained qualifications of; NVQ level 2 , NVQ level 3, Btec Level 3 , HNC level 4, I have been away on several training courses paid for and organised by my company. This has helped me gain new skills and experiences that have progressed me throughout my apprenticeship.
I really enjoy working within the organisation at Syngenta, it feels like a pleasure to come to work and I look foreword to it. I move around the different plants every 6 months so I have worked with a large variety of people and teams. They have all been extremely professional and helped me throughout my time with them.
I do feel very valued in the organisation with all of the help and support I receive from my manager and pears within Huddersfield, my engineering teams treat me as one of their own with makes me feel really included and recognised.
The Apprenticeship is a well structured system, there is a 3 week induction period to bring you into the company and the industry. I have regular meetings with my manger to review my progress throughout the apprenticeship. I am given time and resource to help with my academic studies.
I receive plenty of support with anything that I need, they give me help with my work and provide me with all the tools I need to progress my career within Syngenta.
My employer gives me support in work, they're there for me whenever I need them. This is for if I ever need any guidance, advice and anything that I might require doing for me. They have a really positive attitude towards helping apprentices, they positively encourage us to come to them with any of our needs.
My salary is sufficient at supporting me in living and expenditure costs
Syngenta is very active within the community and prides itself on helping the community with volunteering. I have been on several company events for recruiting and team building. There is also I very rewarding benefits scheme for employees.
