Our job title is manufacturing apprentices, this includes learning the processes of manufacturing on our Leeds site from making the AP that goes into the cans, then onto the production lines to see where and how the antiperspirant, deodorants and roll-on are made. then we get to learn where they're are put onto pallets before it is sent out to buyers. we also get to learn all about how quality is kept throughout the site.
Yes. we go to college once a week and have got some engineering maintenance qualifications. we also get a business improvement technique qualification.
I enjoy working as a team as you meet new people with every place you work, all with different personalities. which is a great way to learn how to speak to people. I also enjoy the work because we get the opportunity to see most aspects of the company from the start of production to the end. the company is a good company to work for and has loads of benefits for its employees which makes it enjoyable to come to work.
As an apprentice I feel valued we are included throughout the company and we can be put forward for recognition if we do something to impress someone.
very well structured we have a mentor who comes to see us monthly and are giving time to complete work if we are struggling, we are also given support throughout our apprenticeship.
we have a mentor who comes to see us monthly and are giving time to complete work if we are struggling, we are also given support throughout our apprenticeship. its easy to get to and easy to contact anyone if we need support. they're more than happy to help with anything.
we get a lot of support from everyone on site.
Unilever as a company pays very well and as an apprentice they pay way over the minimum which is very good so I would say we don't struggle with anything if we spend our money wisely.
yes as apprentices we go away yearly with other unilever apprentices from around the UK. we also get the chance to volunteer for apprenticeship events to encourage people to apply for apprenticeships .
Yes
Because its a good company to work for they are world wide, they give out good training, and good opportunities to work with teams you wouldn't usually get to work with without the correct qualifications. they also look after their employees.
be confident as they will look for your ability to interact with people and get involved in the tasks they may give you. don't panic under pressure and just show you're willing to work and try your hardest as they're not always looking for people who can do things straight away as long as you always give 100%
