I am currently in the auto palletiser department. Here the engineering team makes sure that all maintenance is up to schedule and also plan further activities if needed. I usually have a chat with the operators every morning at the start of the shift and have a look at the logbook to see if there was any issues over night. One of my responsibilities is making sure that preventative maintenance is carried out as we cannot afford to have breakdowns during production. I do a lot more than just maintenance, for example programming and lead or take part in projects.
Since I've been in this department, my mentor has taught me how to program the palletisers, fault find within the PLC program and also design patterns. Everything was easy to understand because I had been to courses before that was provided by Unilever.
I work with a great engineering team that helps me when needed. My relationship with the operators is also brilliant.
I feel that I have a bit of value due to the knowledge I gain throughout this years, mainly now in this department. They provide me with any training and teach me new things every weeks.
It's all well structured but at the end of the day, we have to drive our own apprenticeships and push to make certain things happen.
As much as I need, guides me in the right way.
Provides every resource needed.
Pay is a things I can't complain about. Meets my lifestyle requirements.
Not that I'm aware of.
