When I took this programme I was a Client Servicing officer in the Client Servicing Team. My day to day role was to help customers with their day to day banking queries mostly relating to transactional queries. I would also assist with Relationship Manager queries. Our work was on both the mailbox and the telephone.
I have gained skills in training and training techniques and the levels of matrix and how to best coach people. I have also gained a vast new knowledge on the banking world. I have obtained great telephoney skills and gained skills in tackling customer complaints. I have also learned organisational skills and how to work well as a team
I am enjoying it so far. I really enjoy it when I meet with my tutor and we go over my skills and how I would approach situation with the customers. I am not, however, enjoying the work books. I find a lot of the questions within the work books to be irrelevant to the job that I do and many of the questions are very basic (such as why is good customer service good).
In the Client Servicing Team I felt very undervalued in my role. I was a pay grade band B where many of my other colleagues were a band C and had no extra responsibilities and we done exactly the same job and the same role. However since my promotion to an ARM I feel much more valued. I feel like I am trusted to organise my own days and am always complimented for jobs well done and am encouraged to dive in and develop.
It has been a bit of a mess. Unfortunately I was in a circumstance where I had no access to the internet at home for over 4 months and our internet access and emails were cut off in work due to a system restraint we had. I have been beginning to get access at home again and am able to progress with the workbooks now. Also, with out tutor leaving us half way through it has thrown a huge spanner in the works.
I was receiving exactly what I was needing from Billy. He was very supportive during my time without internet and was thinking of work around ways for me to continue. I cannot remember the name of the replacement tutor and have only been in touch with her once. May need to open up communication lines better with her to progress forward.
I am currently receiving a lot of support form my management team. They are driving me to progress in Lloyds Banking Group and be the best I can within this role. I am hoping to draw out a development plan with them soon to help me push myself further. The team I work with are absolutely fantastic. They are always happy to provide assistance and support me when needed.
I would say now with my promotion it fits very well so far. I feel it matches what I expected a bit better and I am at the lowest tier of Band C. Before in CST it did not reflect the job I done what so ever. We had a extreme pressure, over 100 processes and any slight hiccup would cause serious issues. We had access to systems to vital that we were not aloud access to any internet or emails and the wage did not match that at all.
There are opportunities outside of work. I get the chance to take a day to help out the local community in a charity day once a year. I hear that we will also be going to The Royal Highland Show as part of the Agriculture team in the ARM role. There are always events relating to work that we have the chance to grab and attend and we also plan many work nights to keep our team happy.
Yes
Usually a decent wage and great career progression
Show pride in yourself and your work. Show the drive to develop and be the best you can possibly be. Show the ability to work as part of a team and lead. Be calm in the interview and stay professional whilst showing your true colours and your personality.
