My day involves. 're stocking the shop floor. Doing till work and talking/assisting customers. My role as a apprentice is the same as a store assistant
Yes I would say that I have become a lot better at talking to people. I now feel comfortable talking to customers where as I was nervous when I started. I would also say that I have learnt how to be a store assistant as this is my first job in retail
I enjoy it quite a lot. If I was asked this months ago I would have said stressful but, now after 8 months I am now feeling happy. I like going to work knowing that I have my role and I know what I am doing. The days are very organised and I understand my targets.
This is a tough one as I would say that I do and I don't. Compliments and encouragement only come from certain people in the business. I think it may be part of their role tho to not constantly say you are doing well, so you stop trying harder. I feel that by not saying much it leaves that opening for you to try and evolve into a even better store assistant.
Very well I would say. I know exactly what I am supposed to do and my work outside of Aldi, such as my coursework is really nicely layed out to complete. I never really have to ask for assistance as it is clearly shown to me.
As much as I need really. It has come to a point now where not much assistance is needed because I have been doing this for a while, although if I need help and I ask. It is clearly shown to me first hand and quickly. When I first started I was shown clearly how to do my work and how to contact if I need any help at all. My work is now coming to a end and I only have 1 workbook left to complete. I am around a month ahead than planned.
Again as much as I need although I feel it all depends who I ask. For example I don't think some people would help to a extent as others. Certain people at Aldi have always tried to help me improve where I can and others don't seem to be that bothered. Which again I feel is down more to the individual than down to the business. Overall however I am satisfied that the company as a whole has helped me as much as they can with my work.
Very well, even this months salary was fairly high especially for my age. I am on nearly twice as much as some friends that I have outside of work and even they were surprised to how much I was on. This month for example I was o my 300 pounds away from the amount that my dad brung home and he is working full time too. To me this is great and gives you that little inspiration to try harder as you know that there are rewards.
Not really if I am honest however I don't think that I have really tried to look. I imagine that if you was going out of your way to look then you would probably find many opportu nities. Again I have not really looked tho. I feel it may be the same wherever you go to work tho and this is just the average amount out there.
Yes
Overall I have enjoyed my time working here I have met many great staff who are extremely friendly and have had many times where I have had to work hard which is a very good thing. If you are looking for a place where you know you are going to be challenged yet reap all the rewards that come with it then I would definitely say that Aldi is a very good company to go with. Money wise you can't complain either it is one of the best paying retail shops out there. This is deserved from the work that you do tho.
First impressions are everything I think. I would definitely say that if you get a interview. Show up looking smart and with a good working attitude. You definitely need to also understand however that is isn't easy work and their are a lot of targets and a lot is expected from you. They make this clear in the interview tho. Apply if you want good money and a place to go where you are challenged and want to make tho best out of you.
