I worked in the governance and finance sector where I had to think of new ideas for the governance and finance sector of the annual report, match companies with their addresses to ensure they are correct, and attend multiple meetings on how the business can move forward. I also made notes in meetings so minor details are not forgotten later on. I also checked over some pages to observe whether there are any mistakes etc.
I learnt teamwork skills when I thought of new ideas for the annual report and gave them to another team member who would put them in place. although I have good leadership skills, my teamwork skills needed encouragement so that i was satisfied with working with others rather than doing everything myself. I also built up my confidence and communication skills because now I am able to explain things more clearly and ask questions without feeling shy.
I enjoyed the work experience because it gave me a sense of who i want to be in the future which gave a boost of confidence because i somewhat know what i want to be. i enjoyed working with the team because they were supportive and always helped me whenever i needed help. the company i had were all very nice and made a lot of new friends. the whole programme went up and above my expectations. i loved it.
I feel that because they had made a special programme for people like myself, I felt appreciated and worthy. I was recognised as an 'intern' at my work experience place where me and my work experience colleagues were all paraded every time we walked by the reception (as a joke) which made me feel very involved with the workplace. I felt very involved in the tasks.
The induction was very organised. The training was very unique because i could actually apply it to everyday life rather than just learning it. the support was extraordinary coming from a lot of adults with their own careers. meeting the mentor was nicely structured because they came to our workplace and met us there, which was very convenient for us.
I recieved a lot of support, she guided me through the whole workplace and had me meet a lot of important people where i could talk about how they ended up in the role that they got. she was always at the same place so i could access any help whenever necessary. they were always willing to help which made me really enjoy the whole experience.

I feel that I'll be good for travel for the next few months. However, traveling to and from my home to the workplaces were a challenge as i kept having to top up my oyster. i feel that i can budget a lot and also with the work experience that i have now i will be able to get a job which the salary that i got from EY will be enough and sufficient until then.
Before, i felt that there were not many opportunities for me to reach out for. Now, i feel that there are many opportunities. for example, the opportunities that i am getting from EY and also working for charities and joining clubs. normally, i sit at home and do almost nothing but i have found many opportunities that i should definitely take on board.
Yes
Such a great experience. can get so much out of it and i do not see any disadvantages. well worth the time.
definitely do your research on EY and prepare your interview. don't be afraid to ask questions. they love answering them.
