For one week I had many worksheets and opportunities to develop my skills that would be beneficial when working in such a big financial firm. Also I learnt and then developed on new skills that yet again will benefit me in the future. Then for another week I was placed in a specific sector and given real life work to do for the company.
Yes I have developed my confidence skills when presenting a new phone in an activity called dragons den. During this day I also developed my communication and team skills as I had to work in and team and together, through communication, we had to develop a new phone with many new features. When presenting back to the panel it showed me that I do not have to be so nervous anymore and it helped my overall confidence in front of people I do not know.
I enjoyed the programme very much as I learnt a lot of new things along the process and even managed to make new friends.
I felt very valued during my time at EY. They treated me as a real employee and expected the same standards from me as they would from any other worker. They valued my circumstances and opinions and treated me with respect. Everyone had a fair an equal chance and opportunity and I felt very valued. EY is a great company to work at if you want to be valued and treated well.
The programme was very organised and ran very smoothly without many problems, if not any problems. The employers and helpers organised the workshops well and managed to fit everything in such a short amount of time we had. Even though there wasn’t much time for everything it still did not feel rushed but rather structured. The work experience even when I had to travel to Liverpool, was very organised and there was no problems that occurred along the way. I’m general the programme was very organised.
The amount of support that I revceived during my time on the programme was unimaginable. No matter how small the issue was, there would always be someone willing to help you before you even asked them for help. I also received a lot of help with the qualification so that I was able to achieve the best that I could and to my highest standard. The support offered was amazing and I could not have wished for more.
A lot of support is given to me as mentioned above.
For paid work experience the salary we were given at the end of the programme was not something I expected, in a positive way. The programme was not about the pay itself but more the qualification and experience however the money was a big plus and met my costs and expectations. I could not have been happier with the salary and it was the right amount for someone my age.
Currently I am not in work. The opportunities and chances that EY has given me though are incredible. By gaining what I have I know that I will have many opportunities when I do apply for jobs due to EY being on my CV. Many doors have now been opened for me all due to EY.
Yes
It is a company that goes by its slogan very well. It goes to such extents that it has programmes for young people to gain an insight into the working world. The opportunities that it offers both for young people or older people are very beneficial and not many companies do what EY does. The atmosphere within the company is really good too everyone is polite and has manners and does not look down at people when they have a better job.
Just go for it. Do not hesitate about applying because it will not be something that you will regret. Be very honest about yourself and sell yourself as much as you can. Learn to manipulate language so that you sound charming and with a wide range of skills without sounding like you are boasting. Though boasting to a certain extent is not a bad thing. Do not be shy and just try to impress when applying as that is all you can do, be yourself.
