  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The most enjoyable thing about the work experience was that every day was different in the sense that we were not always in the EY office. We went to other organisations e.g. Creamline. However, when we were in the EY office, we partook in several workshops designed to facilitate our skills. It also consisted of working on the level 2 CMI qualification.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I gained a level 2 CMI qualification at the end of it which is great. I developed presentation skills through a number of presentations that we had to do but also team working skills along with problem solving skills

  • I really enjoyed the work experience as each day was unpredictable. I learnt a lot about EY and the kind of services it offers. The experience also allowed me to improve my networking skills and met a lot of people which I am friends to this day.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • I was given a tram ticket that cost £12 in the third week of the programme for my work experience. So I did receive financial support when I needed it to travel to the place that I undertook the work experience. However, for the first two weeks, I did not require support to travel to the EY office.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • EY has hosted a number of alumni events in order to catchup with friends. It has also hosted an event to provide certificates for the students that worked hard.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I gained a lot of practical skills and has allowed me to become a more 'employable' individual and so would recommend it to anyone who has no work experience as I did not at the time.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Don't fear the application process. If you do get an interview, the interviewer is on your side. If you forgot to answer the second part of the question, the interviewer is there to ask it you again.
