Daily tasks mainly involve CAD design within microstation and rebar detaiing for a range of diffrent structures along with attending Uni one day a week.
Before starting at arup i had no CAD experience and didnt really know what CAD was. I am now a skilled CAD techichion and have been fully trained in the softwares i need to use. i have also had chance to develop skills like leadership and time management.
The programme is enjoyable ans rewards but also stressful at times with trying to balance work, uni and home life
Arup value their apprenctices highly and always makek sure you have wrk and are involved on real projects and maing a diffrence on them.
The programme has become better organised over the last few years and now runs well with uni and wok running alngside one another.
The university do their bst to hel you and develop in the time they see you athough this time is limited. If you feel you need more support you can talk t them and they will assist you with this.
Arup are always happy to listen to your probems and concerns ans do their upmost to sort these and make you happy at the company.
Salary is good but there is linited opertunity to progess in the first 4 years as pay is regulated.
There are limited oportunitys ouside of work. where there is they are normally sports bsed activities.

Good company to work for, always looked after. decent pay. good work life balance. great people.
Be honest, be open and be yourself at interview. If its not for you dont feel like you have to join just because its a big company.
