  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Good Points: - Working with people of a similar age is a good experience and helps the work days flow faster - The work is challenging and busy at times which helps the days move at a fast pace - There's a strong social culture in the firm encouraging communication - The skills learnt are highly transferrable Negative Points: - The working hours are unsociable at time and the firm has a long way to go in recognising people's personal lives ahead of their needs - There's an outdated culture both in the work-life balance and the pay disparity within the firm - Clients do not always see the value added of the role

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Deloitte?
  • Work Performance: - In my experience at Deloitte I have noted that good work often goes unpraised and unrecognised. Bonus rewards frequently go to the employees shouting the loudest about how busy they are. - Some personal thanks are received from management dependent on their style - Taking self-pride in the work performed is a good approach I have developed/. - Meeting deadlines is seen as business as usual as opposed to an achievement

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Inductions and internal trainings are well organised and suited to meet the needs of development both professionally and personally. Task and work delegation is organised and a system is in place for progression. There are various supports for both work and exams. There have been some issues in the scheduling of exams but otherwise, no issues noted.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Kaplan are an excellent college with efficient resources for support. The tutors take time to ensure that they provide you with their contact details should you ever need support. The learning resources are clear and easy to follow which is good for the complexity of the qualification. Any questions are quickly dealt with by the support team.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • In terms of development and progression the firm are open in you exploring new opportunities. There are many secondment opportunities and learning opportunities that can be gained should you wish to engage with them. The exam support has been fairly disappointing as the team are usually fairly rigid in allowing extra time to prepare and there have been some negative cases in people being fired due to exam performance. The attitude of support is encouraged through the firm with it often coming from colleagues than those in management roles.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • The salaries have remained stable since I joined and do not increase with inflation. There are constant changes to the bandings of certain grade's salaries which causes some employee dissatisfaction. For my age the salary is certainly good but in terms of the work I perform it would not meet the pay outside of practice. Mileage is compensated and the benefits are good.

    7/10

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Opportunities outside of work are limitless in Deloitte. There are various different societies and committees that employees can engage in. There is adequate funding for social activities and groups. There is a strong CSR initiative within the firm to raise money for charity and give up hours where required. There are many company events that can be attended and a great social experience.
