Audit junior. I go out to client site and do the legwork for the audit, I am now 3 years in and am beginning to get further responsibility. I now manage a team of juniors whilst out on client site and am responsible for communications with the client and overall project management of the job.
Lots. Ive improved my people skills, the nature of the job means that i have face to face contact with many people all of whom are different and hae different working styles because of this i have learnt to adapt to other peoples needs to get the best quality information out of them. There are also lots of internal training courses focussing on a mix of technical and soft skills. I am also being sposored to sit ACCA and CTA exams and am supported with study leave and college time.
Its tough as you are in the working world but you quickly adapt. There are lots of social events which are often free which is fun.
Quite, there are obviously lots of employees but if you work hard its recognised. I've been lucky enough to work in a smallish team where the partner is very involved and takes her time to speak to you.
Very, there is a clear progression plan throughout the whole firm, the first 4 teirs are covered in your training ontract. The exam path is also well planned and there are senior members of staff that are responsible for organising your college time.
Lots, college is really good and offer a path whereby if you sit the moccks and obtain a reasonable % of the marks but you fail your actual exam on the day you can go back to college for free.
Lots, you get given college learning and revision time and can also take extra time off for exams. THey are also proactive around mental health and i feel that if i had a problem it would be dealt with in a fair manner.
Its tight at first but has a much higher salary than most other school leaver programmes. THere is also clear salary progression which in the long run pays well. Pay is scaled to your location to match living costs.
Lots of socials but work does take up a significant amount of your time.
Yes
All of the above reasons.
Practice for the interview and numerical/logical reasoning tests, they may seem simple but many intelligent people get caught out by them.
