As only being an apprentice for only 7 months in April, everything has been a bit of a whirlwind learning all new skills and about phone systems/the internet and communication techniques so overall, everything is an achievement in my eyes but finishing off the diploma was quite a milestone so early in. Teamwork happens everyday between all the engineers and us so I think that is a strong side of BT. I still volunteer in my local community and my line manager is very supportive in all aspects whether it is work related or personal. I would like to be successful in all the network training courses (N111 + N112), IP Office (Basic & Advanced) and be looking at taking my first CCNA by next April. I feel going forward will now be better as we will get more hands on time with actual engineers in the field dealing with real time problems now we will not be going away as much. The colleagues that I work with on a regular basis continue to support me with constructive yet positive feedback which I maintain and work towards.
I have learnt about PTSN's, OSI layers, Cisco equipment, IP Office, Norstar's, Teraterm, Manager, basic networking and build a LAN and WAN, magnetism, security, data, HP, Dell and lenovo breakfix and a vast amount more. I thouroughly enjoy learning about telecomms and data and feel very supported by my line manager and all other members of the team.
I love going to work, I love everything I do on a daily basis, the people whom I work with are fantastic and I feel very supported.
100% all the way thanks to my manager and collegues
Very well organised thanks to Samantha Bayliss and Steve Passmore considering this is a new scheme for BT, there are always hiccups but I feel I am always put first for training.
As much as I ask for
All members of the team I work with down in the south west are supportive and respectful to my learning. My manager will support me with whatever I need whether it is personal or work matters.
As far as it goes, very good, as long as we meet our milestones and we get our payrises then I cannot complain yet.
Yes and I have already partaken in one.
Yes
I have never felt more supported, respected, secure or happier with BT and most people I know will choose that over a massive salary. The salary we will end up on (what I have heard) will be a comfortable amount.
Talk to us or the person you know who works for them. There is a few things I have spoken in a group with managers and other apprentices about and it is all small things which BT are striving to iron out to make it better.
